Do you use anti-virus software?

Yes.  Atranz has up-to-date anti-virus software for the protection of its own computer system and files.  However, you will be aware that new viruses appear all the time and no system can be 100% safe.  Please note that Atranz makes no guarantee that files sent will be free of viruses; it is the responsibility of the client to check incoming files and to protect its own system.  See Terms and Conditions.

What's the difference between machine translation and translation memory?

Machine translation is raw translation produced by special computer software without any human input.  For example, search engines use it to give you rudimentary translations of website content.

Translation memory is a software tool used by translators to improve efficiency and consistency, especially in larger projects.  It memorizes phrases and terminology translated by the human translator.  The translator can then use this translation database to support future translation of similar words and phrases.
